Vital travel information for Leeds United fans heading to Elland Road for Preston game

Leeds United fans have been warned to plan ahead if they travel to Elland Road today.

Close to capacity crowds are expected for the traditional Boxing Day game as Whites entertain Preston North End at 5:15 p.m. ET.

Thousands of fans usually make it to the ground in shuttles from Leeds city center – but that won’t be the case tonight.

First Bus does not offer a shuttle service for today’s game and the club have reminded people to make alternative travel arrangements.

A post on the club’s website read: “We have been informed by First Group that there will be no shuttles between Leeds City Center and Elland Road on Boxing Day for our game against Preston North End.

“Fans who plan to travel from the city center should make alternative travel arrangements to get to the ground.”

Some fans aren’t too happy with the news, with a number of people tweeting First Bus asking why they decided to stop shuttle services for today’s game.

A spokesperson for First Bus responded, “I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. We have a very limited schedule on Boxing Day, and we generally don’t run football shuttles on Boxing Day.”
