Southern Indiana guys trip
The hype, the anticipation, the angst…it’s a GUY trip! One of the best things to look forward to every year, at least for me.
These getaways are unique. I believe guys trips are a must thing to do once a year, they can help you recalibrate while you take time away from normal life and hang out with your buddies.
People have jobs, they have families, and they have lives, but sometimes you just need to get by with the bros.
What to do
If you’re like me, you love some of the following: guns, gambling, and golf! Yes, there are other things, but here are some of the best things to do for “guys” in southern Indiana.

Gambling
Get ready to roll the dice and try your hand at table games, slot machines or sports betting at Caesars Southern Indiana.
Golf
Southern Indiana offers plenty of golfing opportunities in the area, but be sure to check out the courses at New Albany native and champion masters Fuzzy Zoeller, Champions Pointe and Covered Bridge.
Sports Club at the Farm
There’s nothing more that screams “guy stuff” than shooting guns. The Sporting Club at the Farm offers skeet shooting, big game hunting, archery, fishing and more.
Fishing
Good weather, good company and relaxation… that’s fishing. Discover these 7 fishing spots.
State Parks
There are four state parks in southern Indiana: Charlestown State Park, Clark State Forest, Deam Lake Recreation Area, and Ohio Falls State Park. . Each park offers something slightly different from the other. Between these parks you can swim, hike, fish, horseback ride, camp and more.
*Premium: Most of the time, you can’t talk about southern Indiana without mentioning Louisville’s proximity to the region. Kentucky has everything from bourbon to horses and basketball!
If you’re looking for bourbon, be sure to visit Angel’s Envy Distillery, Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co., or Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, to name a few. Or stay on the Indiana side of the river and check out Starlight Distillery and Distillery 64.
While in this part of the country, visiting Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, is almost a must. They offer daily and weekly races depending on the time of year, so why not try betting the ponies and see if luck is on your side? You know what they say, don’t you? “Get lucky in Kentucky.”
My favorite thing in the world is sports, so if you and your “team” want to watch a game, go to Louisville City FC (football), Louisville Bats (baseball), or see the Louisville Cardinals ( college athletics) during a home game. If all the teams are away, you can still get your sports fix at the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory or the Muhammad Ali Center.
Where to eat and drink
