Raj Bhavan upset that CM’s overseas travel info isn’t leaked
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s foreign travels have angered Raj Bhavan. According to sources, the resentment stems from the fact that the Governor was not informed in writing of the details of the trip, as required by the Constitution.
According to tradition, each time the chief minister travels abroad, he meets the governor, reviews the preparations for the trip, and then shares written information about the trip. However, the custom was broken this time.
Sources say that when the governor arrived in Kannur on Monday to pay his respects to Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, he spoke with the chief minister about the trip.
Sources claim that Pinarayi informed Khan that he would be leaving for a 10-day tour of Europe. Pinarayi received the governor’s best wishes for his trip.
Although they were officially informed, sources claimed that there had been no official contact.
On Tuesday morning, Pinarayi boarded a plane from Kochi to Europe.
Saturday evening, the CM was to leave Kerala by plane. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, a former CPM Secretary of State, had health issues that deteriorated just before his trip, so the trip had to be postponed.
The Kerala group led by the Chief Minister will begin their journey in Norway. It was originally to begin with a trip to Finland.
The CM will ride with Ministers P Rajeev and V Abdurahiman.
