Nine’s Travel Guides returns with new destinations abroad
Nine announced that Travel Guides will return in April with brand new episodes, and again including international destinations.
The last series of the program was an entirely national affair, with teams examining all-Australian destinations after COVID-19 forced the series to film locally.
The new series will cover a mix of foreign and local destinations, including Greece, Mauritius, South Korea, Cambodia, South Australia and the Kimberley in the far northwest of Australia.
Nine confirmed to Mumbrella that among the brand new episodes, some were filmed before COVID and others after COVID.
Travel Guides will continue to be narrated by Denise Scott, with each episode seeing all five groups of travel reviewers heading to the same location for the same week-long vacation, examining food, accommodations and more.
The Fren family, cowgirls Stack and Mel, retirees Kevin and Janetta, friends Kev, Dorian and Teng, and longtime couple Matt and Brett, will all be returning for the new series.
Travel Guides will air on Channel 9 and 9Now on Wednesday April 14 at 7:30 p.m.
April is shaping up to be a key month in the TV battle for 2021, with Seven set to air their final season of Big Brother.
Meanwhile, Ten’s new Masterchef series is slated to hit screens after Easter, around last year’s air date, which was April 13.
