ND Tourisme offers you road trip ideas to get you out of your home

MINOT, ND – In the first two weeks of August 2020, Americans made more than 12 million road trips, according to the North Dakota Department of Commerce.

Souris River Brewing is one stop on the North Dakota Brewery and Wineries Tour, a collection of must-try places in the state.

“It’s always a great honor to be included in something like this. To be included with other great venues like a winery perspective in our area, ”said Aaron Thompson, owner of Souris River Brewing.

The initiative includes trips along a particular route or a themed trip like RV camping to reflect recent trends.

“Growth in purchases of leisure equipment. Whether it’s an expensive RV or a motorhome. Maybe it’s a kayak or a bike or an ATV. People really want to go out and use these toys they bought in new places, ”said Tourism Director Sara Otte Coleman.

The tourism division wants to take advantage of the changes it has seen due to the pandemic to get people to see the state.

“People are willing to travel further in their vehicle, they are willing to take a few days to get to their destination, and they will even take a trip that includes a number of destinations and enjoy the trip along the way. . we think this trend will continue for a few years, ”said Coleman.

Coleman cited a sharp increase in the number of people visiting his website last year and hopes to see more this year.
