It’s officially fall in Alberta and winter is just around the corner. If you’re not yet ready to dive into winter, a little fall road trip might be in order. We’ve put together a list of ideas for last minute trips to Calgary within five hours of the city.

You don’t have to travel far to explore the great outdoors. This list includes golden larches, Rocky Mountains, adorable little towns and more. If a short road trip was on your fall to-do list, there’s no better time than now to take it.

Some of these destinations are in Alberta, others in British Columbia, and one even ventures across the border. The good thing about these road trips is that they are nice and short. Nothing puts a stop to a trip like a long, boring drive. Plus, many of us are pressed for time when it comes to making vacations part of our schedules. If you only have a weekend for your vacation, you might as well make the most of it and waste as little time as possible in the car.

Go out on Friday after work and get home on time on Sunday to avoid the stress of Sunday night. Here are six road trips from Calgary that take less than five hours. See you on the road!
